STS-27 Atlantis, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 104, is launched from KSC Launch Complex (LC) Pad 39B for a Department of Defense (DOD) dedicated mission. OV-104, riding atop the external tank (ET), rises above mobile launcher platform and launch pad with the launch tower still visible in background.
