For Back to School we thought of pinning this 1875 picture of the gates at Yonge and College. Back then, College was a private road that ran through King’s College to University Ave. King’s College became the first college in Canada when it was chartered in 1827 by the Earl of Bathurst, and opened two years later in 1829.
