School’s out! Kids are free to play in the park, or maybe in the garden… like Madeline and Mary Playter, pictured here, did in the 1920s. The Loyalist Playter family originally settled the area north of the Danforth between Broadview and Jackman avenues. While thier farmhouse can still be seen from the Danforth when you look north on Playter, their farm was subdivided around 1912 into the streets now known as Playter Estates by 1912.
