What a shame no artist or designer is shown on this 1958 BR leaflet for changes to the Manchester – Altrincham line services that, as part of the 25kv electrification of services out of Manchester London Road (now Piccadilly) were curtailed to Oxford Road station. This was to allow the existing 1500v DC electrification that extended beyond Oxford Road to be converted but did mean a ‘cut back’ of the MSJ & A services. The style of this leaflet is unusually ‘non-corporate’ for British Railways – the only logo is the less common London Midland version of the totem, not even the BR version.
