The Shields Daily Gazette for 7 August 1903 reports:
"INDECENT EXPOSURE AT NORTH SHIELDS
William Williamson, a labourer of South Shields, was charged at North Shields to-day with indecently exposing himself yesterday afternoon at the Albert Edward Dock. Supt. Jamieson, RTP, appeared to prosecute, and called several witnesses to prove the charge and defendant was sent to prison for one month".
