A colourful view of the famous Brig O’ Doon and Burns Memorial at Alloway in Ayrshire, Scotland and an attempt by one of the UK’s ‘Big Four’ railways to lure holiday makers north of the border. One of the annual ‘Scotland for the Holidays’ series, the quality of both artwork and printing was seen as being less than good by the early 1930s and indeed the LMS started a series of joint guides with the other Scottish main line railway, the London North Eastern & Scottish Railway and following their higher standards of artwork and publicity the subsequent guides always feel more LNER than LMSR in style!
