May 28, 2015 Uncategorized

Smelling of spices and herbs, the Apothecary Shop exhibits an array of "elixirs" and "ointments" of colonial medicine, medicinal herbs, and other exotic wares. In the eighteenth century, thee owner of such a shop was usually a doctor who, in addition to his medicinal practice, served as a dispenser of medicines in the role of apothecary, or pharmacist. The Apothecary Shop is open daily to the public.
