On 29 November 1776, Continental brig Reprisal became the first Continental vessel to arrive in Europe when arriving in Quiberon Bay, France carrying Dr. Benjamin Franklin while acting as the diplomatic agent to the country. En route, Reprisal captured two merchant brigs and took them in company into the harbor. (6/12/2015).
