Lot 9706-21: German submarine U-53, port bow, at Newport, Rhode Island, October 1916. U-53 is noted for sinking USS Jacob Jones (DD 61) on December 6, 1917. She surrendered on December 1, 1918 and was broken up at Swansea in 1922. (7/17/2015).
