The recent visit of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Consort of Queen Elizabeth II, made us think of another royal visit, also in May. This is a photograph of the present Queen’s parents (George VI, King of England, and Elizabeth, his queen consort) attending the King’s Plate at the Woodbine race track during their royal visit May 22, 1939.
